Southern Hawker

I decided when I got to work yesterday to check on the pond before I did anything else. I’m pleased I did as I found a Southern Hawker covered in some raindrops. I‘m also pleased that I had the 300mm lens with me instead of the macro as I could not get very close to it. I took some shots then I left it while I unlocked everywhere, got changed, and did all the paperwork that needed doing. I then went back to get some more shots. By this time, it had climbed up out of the grasses it was in and I was able to fill my boots with it out in the open however, it was pumping its wings so when I went back later it was gone.
